Color outdoor photography has been my passion for more than 45 years. It developed over a lifetime of travel, nature study and wilderness adventure. By the age of 20, I'd been around the world twice by sea, and through the years worked as a mountain guide, sea captain and innkeeper.

As an exhibitor, I have participated in many juried shows in the mid-Columbia and Portland area since 1991. I've been honored with a number of awards, among them a $1,000 grand prize presented at the Maryhill Museum of Art. And in 2001 a First Prize in Popular Photography's International Picture Contest with a glacier-calving image in Alaska.

In 1997, I became a full-time photographer, producing both fine art and stock images under my business name, Long Shadow Photography. My clientele for stock photos range from the Gorge Guide to National Geographic.
